Support Local Cafes and Roasters During COVID-19

COVID-19 has taken everyone by surprise. We can see its effects on our global and local economy, with so many local businesses closing or limiting their operation to protect their patrons and amazing staff. To help our indie cafes, here is an update on what local coffee houses and roasters are doing that you can visit in a responsible manner or order from.

Cafes

Dublin 1

It’s a Trap in 15 Denmark Street Great is open. The cafe is serving goodies six day a week: Mon – Fri, from 9.30am – 6pm, and Saturdays from 10am – 6pm. Also, you can buy the whole cake (€45) in such flavours as biscoff, salted caramel and coffee, peanut butter and carrot cake. Please order at least 2 days in advance.

Panem Foods in 21-22 Lower Ormond Quay is open. Their opening hours are Mon – Fri, 8am-3.30pm, and on Saturdays, 9.30am-3.30pm. They are offering a takeaway only service with one person/couple allowed in the store at a time.

NOW Closed

Camerino in Capel Street is now open at 7.30am-3.30pm. They are still baking fresh bread each day. To place an order, call on 01 537 7755. They are happy to deliver within Dublin for those who cannot pop in for collection. Drop by for lunch, coffee or treats which are ready for collection. You can pay by contactless or over the phone before your visit. For coffee lovers, go to Roasted Brown, their coffee supplier who has recently launched their online store to help the cafe build up their sales. You can order coffee beans through their online shop and get 10% discount by using the cafe’s code “CAMERINO.” 100 % of the roaster’s profit goes to their customers and you get a sweet 10% off your coffee.

Vice Coffee is now closed. However, **they have now an online store, with coffee beands and gear.**

Dublin 2

3FE Lower Grand Canal Street is back open. They are open Fri-Sun from 9am-4pm. Strict social distancing.

Alma Cafe is 12 South Circular Road, Portobello, is now open. They will be open Tue-Sun, from 9am – 3pm. They are offering takeaway coffee and cakes. For food, make sure to visit their online store as they won’t be accepting any phone orders. Collection and delivery only.

Cloud Picker in 42 Pearse Street is reopening on this Tuesday, Apr 28th. They will be on Tue-Fri, 9am-2pm, and now Sat, 8am-4pm. Apart from their fab coffee, they will be offering gear, equipment, salads, breads, White Mausu condiments and Harry’s Nut Butter by Harry Colley.

Butler’s Pantry in Mount Merrion is open seven days a week, 9am-5pm. Serving Silverskin Coffee. Order for collection or order meal packs available for home delivery. They have teamed up with Lynk to offer same day, local delivery.

First Draft Coffee and Wine is open 9am-7pm. Mind the break from 3pm-5pm. Grab your bag of Roasted Brown coffee or a wine bottle from Ger’s fab selection. Ger has got an online service. Deliveries currently run Monday to Friday. Please note the team only delivers to 3km radius of the shop at the moment. If you would like to collect, drop them a message and they will have it ready for you at the door.

Kaph in Drury Street is open Mon-Sat, 9am-4.30pm. In collaboration with the Artemis Fowl author, Eoin Colfer, they are now offering a free coffee to frontline workers.

Network Cafe are now bringing you coffee kits to your home via their new ‘Network From Home’ subscription. The way it works is they provide you with coffee and gear as well support in the form of Zoom calls to help you brew your fave cup of java. The simple menu guides you through a coffee type you want to do, a kit you need to make it (a starter or a pro kit) and a coffee bag size. If you need non-diary milk, they also give you a selection of alternatives to choose from. The team offers this service for both companies and individuals.

Saba’s Coffee Hatch in Baggot Street is open from Wed-Sun, 9am-1pm. The restaurant is open from 4pm-10pm for collection and delivery. Check out https://www.sabatogo.com/ to order.

Cracked Nut in Camden Street is open Mon-Fri, 8am-3pm. They are closed at the weekend.

Dublin 3

Ebb and Flow will be changing their opening hours on a daily basis so make sure to check their Instagram and Facebook for updates. For this Monday, March 23, they will be open from 10am-3pm. Social distancing in place.

Dublin 4

Dublin 5

Dublin 6

3FE Sussex Terrace is back open. They are open Mon-Sun from 9am-4pm. Strict social distancing.

250 Square Coffee in Terenure is open for takeaways. They are serving caffeinated goods the whole week: Mon – Fri from 9am – 4pm, Saturday-Sunday until 5pm.

Foam Coffee in Terenure is open. They prepare food for collection. Call them at 01 406 4583. If you live locally, they would be happy to deliver. Visiting for the weekend, they have 6 zones marked X so implement the social distancing policy. So if you don’t see a free X zone, wait outside.

Five Points in Harold’s Cross is open. They are serving goodies Thurs-Sun, from 9am-4pm.

Green Fox Cafe in Harold’s Cross is open for online orders. They are serving snacks, gourmet sandwiches, smoothies and brunches.

Grove Road is back open. You can get some of their popular dishes along with coffee, pastries, iced coffees and cakes. Plus, they are selling home brewing equipment. For your coffee need, there are 250gr and 1kg bags available for sale. They have gift vouchers on vouch_for.

One Kinda Folk in Ranelagh is serving takeaway coffees. They are open  Tues-Fri 10am -3pm, and Sat-Sun 10am til 4pm. Their online store is stocked with 3FE coffee and Prana Chai. with Keep an eye on their Instagram for the latest updates

The Bretzel Bakery is open for bread, pastries and takeaway coffee from
Java Republic. Also check out their click and collect service to order fab bakes, pastries and bread.

No recent update

Bijou Deli on the corner in Rathgar is open. They offer a great takeaway menu (recommended by FillumIre). Their chef will offer a tea time take home hot dish every evening.

Dublin 7

K A L E + C O C O in Stoneybatter is open Tue-Fri, 8.30am-2pm, and Sat from 10am-2pm. Takeaway only. It is a good spot for vegan and gluten-free options.

SLICE Stoneybatter‘s Hatch is now open where you can get toasties and coffees from. They also have a pre-order menu available (check their Instagram for details). Just order in advance first from their takeaway menu and you will get the collection time allocated for you to pick up your goodies.

Social Fabric Cafe in Stoneybatter is back open. They are serving coffee and homemade cakes seven days a week 9am-2.30pm. Food treats are available on call and collect basis from Thur-Sun. To order food, call them at 0851453323. Make sure to check their Instagram for the menu before ordering.

Urbanity To Go in Coke Lane is open daily. Serving food and coffee Mon-Fri, 9am-2pm, and Sat-Sun, 10am-3pm. Place your order over the phone at 01-8747288 and pop by to collect. They are also offering wine for collection, available Mon – Fri.

WokeCup Cafe’s Hatch is open seven days a week, from 10am to 2pm. Serving coffee and food. A perfect spot for vegetarians and vegans.

Dublin 8

Legit Coffee Co in Meath Street is open. They are open Mon-Sat, from 9.30am -3pm, serving coffee, sambos, sausage rolls and pastries.

Groundstate Coffee in Thomas Street is back open from Monday, Apr 27. They are open daily 9.30am – 2.30pm. They are operating only a take away service. They also have an online store.

The Bakery by The Cupcake Bloke in Rialto is still open in Rialto with shorter hours. They are now open Wed – Sat, 9am-4pm.

NOW Closed

The Dublin Cookie Co in Thomas Street is open seven days a week for takeaways only and click and collect. You can also order via Deliveroo. They are open Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm, and at the weekend from 10am-4pm. They have put together a few sweet packs such as Self Isolation Sunshine Box and Family Night In Pack that are available for purchase in their online shop.

Legit Coffee in Meath Street is open for takeaway snacks and coffee. You can also purchase gift cards or donate via their website to help support the cafe and its staff. Visit their online shop to order Full Circle Roasters for your home coffee needs.

Dublin 13

Minetta Delicatessen in 1 Sutton Cross is open every Wed-Sun, 10am – 4pm. They offer collection (€10 minimum orders) and delivery (€25 minimum orders) services. For same day delivery order before 3pm. They deliver between 4pm-7pm. They will call you to confirm and process payment.

Dublin 15

Java Republic’s Ballycoolin Café is back open Mon-Fri, 8am-2pm. Serving an express takeaway service only.

Dublin 16

Munch Cafe Balally in Dundrum is open daily, from 12pm-4pm as a takeaway. They are serving coffee, tea, Arabic and Mediterranean sweet treats.

Grindstone Coffee in Dublin 16 is still open Mon-Fri, 8am-3pm and weekends 9am-3pm. They are serving takeaway coffee only.

BaaBaa By blacksheep Foods in Chapelizod is now closed. They are now working on setting up online delivery.

Dublin 22

East Village is open 8.30am -3pm for to-go orders. They are now offering a tasty takeaway menu with some reduced prices. They are offering deliveries (from 9am-2pm but check their Instagram for updates). They have Full Circle Roasters and Urbanity Coffee for your home brewing needs so make sure to check them out.

Coffee Work Lucan is still open. They currently allow only 2 people in store at a time. Keep an eye on their Instagram for updates.

Dun Laoghaire

Shoe Lane Coffee‘s Letter Box is open everyday, now from 8am-6pm weekdays & 9am-5pm weekends and Bank holidays . Take-away only. They are also fully stocked with Full Circle Roasters and happy to grind beans for you if needed.

J.J Darboven Cafe is open and ready to serve you coffee. Strict social distancing.

TwoBeans Coffee Bar on George’s Street is still open. The are operating from 10am-3pm. Only takeaway coffee. A great place to get stock up on The Barn beans and equipment for your home brewing. **Online store open.**

Bodega is back open 8am-4pm, offering coffee and treats to go.

Monkstown

Roasteries

Need coffee for your home brewing? These roasters are delivering

3FE – roasted and dispatched on the next business day; delivered by DPD. So if you order on Monday, expect your coffee on Wednesday. Visit their online store now. You can also stock up in their shop on brewing gear such as coffee filters for your Chemex or V60.

Badger and Dodo – the Fermoy -based roastery is roasting and posting throughout the week. Orders are going out daily, with next day delivery via Nightline. They send out orders once a week via courier. Check out their online store here.

CoffeeAngel – Karl will be delivering coffee within 24 -48 hours within Dublin, pending demand. Delivery charges will be waived for orders above €20. Order online here.

Full Circle Roasters – they are delivering. There is no delivery charge. Order online now.

Eighty 9 by J.J Darboven keeps roastering coffee, sending out coffee daily Mon-Fri.

Java Republic -they are delivering as per usual, with up to 7-10 working days. They are offering free shipping for orders over €25 within Ireland. They are also a good place to check for some brewing gear and teas. Check their online store now.

Silverskin – the team is delivering by courier every second day (likely Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Free shipping on orders over €20. Order online now.

Ground Work Coffee by Coffee Works is roasting coffee. Any orders before midnight will be delivered the next day. You can also get coffee gear.

Proper Order – though not a roastery, this cafe is accepting online orders on Square Mile coffee, Aeropress gear and V60 filters via their online store. They are delivering Tuesday and Friday. Make sure your order is in by 5pm the day before. Order online here.
